Israeli representatives frame victims of their Christmas Eve Betlehem terror attack
for the rape and murder of a Jewish girl

FO 371/98490

See State of Terror, 298-300 for background to this page.

On Eastern Christmas Eve of 1952, Israeli patrols blew up civilian houses in the Bethlehem area, forcing their residents to stay inside.

Israel claimed they were targeting the murderers of a Jewish girl in Israel.

No evidence had been given or suspects cited when the MAC (a UN committee overseeing the Armistice) met.

The paragraph beginning "In fact" is extraordinary: Israel framed its West Bank victims posthumously for a murder in Israel for which it had no evidence.

Among the victims of the Christmas Eve massacre.
