Jewish Agency policy of non-cooperation with post-war Reconstruction
continued through to the 1948 US elections and the Marshall Plan
TNA FO 371/68649 1948: Opposition to Reconstruction continues with opposition to the Marshall Plan US Administration’s fudging about Partition brought pro-Zionist protests and impassioned speeches by political leaders. Congressmen were told that they could not be both pro-Israel and pro- Marshall Plan, since the rebuilding of Europe threatened the Zionist narrative, and because Marshall himself had warned Truman against the Zionist state. From a report about a "National Pilgrimage to Washington" that took place on 15 April 1948. See State of Terror, 257 |
