Anti-Zionist Cartoon, summer of 1936
Political cartoon, “The man of the
two wives”, in the Jaffa based newspaper Falastin, June, July, or August
1936. The cartoon depicts Britain’s (John Bull’s) sponsoring of the Zionists as an illegal marriage resulting from the ‘pressure’ of World War I. See: State of Terror, 51 Image taken from Pragnell, F. A., Palestine Chronicle, 1880-1950 [Pragnell Books, 2005]. My thanks to Fred Pragnell for his kind assistance. |
